Sustainability & Recycling

Following a long-standing position of recycling over 90% of waste produced, Danish Design are now proud to be using 100% recycled fibre in the manufacture of their beds.

This recycled PET flake is produced by shredding plastic bottles, which are then cleansed and heated to produce a liquid that is forced through a sieve to produce a thread that forms a fibre once cooled. This fibre can then be processed through our carding facility at the Danish Design factory.

By switching to PET recycled fibre Danish Design can ensure that around eight million plastic bottles a year are stopped from reaching landfill, our natural environment and the oceans.

How To Choose the right bed for your dog

We all love our dogs and they deserve a comfortable bed to rest they heads. Dogs are active animals and need healthy exercise and training, but it is equally important to allow them the rest and sleep they need. As a dog owner we need to make sure our dogs need a safe quiet and comfortable place to rest their heads. At Bone Idol we are working hard to find Stylish elegant beds your dog will love.

How to choose a dog bed

There is a huge range of dog beds, sleeping mats, duvets and cushions out there for you to choose from. When choosing a dog bed, the first thing to do is watch them sleep or take a nap and make a note of the positions and places they love to rest. This will help you choose a shape of bed and help you work out just how big the bed should be. Like us they often have a variety of sleeping positions and often like soothing to rest their heads. So, for dogs that like to starfish or curl up into a ball we have a bed for every dog!

What type of dog bed should I get?

Dog bed’s come in many shapes a sizes, so have think about your dog and choose one that suits them. Cushions and duvets will be flatter and more pillow/mattress like. ‘Walls’ or ‘Shoulders’ often refer to the built-up edges around the padded base. Some beds come with a roof, these enclosed beds are ideal for smaller breeds like Chihuahua’s. Every dog will have their preferences and is lovely to be able to offer one or two options like flatter mattress style beds for daytime napping and something a little cosier for night time sleeping. If your dog is create trained, always check the bed will fit inside the create.

What size bed should I get?

When it comes to size, again think about how they sleep and try to measure how much space you think they will take up in each position. Also try to consider if you have more than one dog, will they nap alone or as part of a pack?
