Water Safety For You & Your Dog
| Bone Idol Brighton, Brighton Shop, Dogs and beaches, Guides & Resources, Healthy & Wellbeing, Wellbeing
A coastal walk with your beloved doggy is a fabulous way to spend a healthy afternoon.
Bone Idol has recently taken advice from the RNLI and we want to share this with you as many of our customers did not know you can call 999 in a doggy emergency.
It's important to keep yourself safe when you walk your lovely dog.
Please remember:
- Keep your dog on a lead if your close to cliff edges or fast flowing rivers.
- If your dog gets into the water or gets stuck in mud, don't go after them. Move to a place they can get to safely and call them – they will probably get out by themselves.
- If you're worried about your dog, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard. Coastguards will assist with dog rescue and while this would be a distressing time for you, it’s vital you leave the rescue to the experts.
The RNLI do fabulous work in the UK to protect humans and pets in coastal danger. You can read all about their work or donate here: https://rnli.org/
